Our royal crown and history predates Ogbomoso, Osogbo and Ibadan.  Hence, to this present day you will still find 'Agbole Iresa' meaning the 'House of Iresa' in all the places mentioned above. IRESA means 'IRE ASA' translation 'Rest place of ASA' (a place Asa died), thus ASA WAS FOUNDER of IRESA.  Asa was a prince from ILE-IFE. Ile-Ife is the spiritual home of all Yorubas, founded by Oduduwa.  Asa was a great-great-grandchild of Oduduwa, most historians believe Asa left Ile-Ife due to internal royal struggles however, it has always been asserted that Asa with his servants left Ile-Ife unannounced. Asa was later found by his family from Ile-Ife after years of searching but did not return to Ile-Ife.  Dig more and find out more, the histroy of Iresa is indeed facinating.

HOW BIG IS IRESA ? - Iresa has a large land mass in Oyo state, bigger than Ogbomoso (the nearest cosmopolitan town) and has historical boundaries extending into Kwara state and Osun state in Nigeria.
